Rolling Hills Country Club Venue Showcase

Rolling Hills Country Club is a newly remodeled event space in the hills of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. It is quickly becoming a shining new star of the South Bay, boasting breathtaking views of Los Angeles and the surrounding areas.

I was delighted to document the venue’s showcase, so I sat sat down with the Director of Catering, Erica King, to see what made the newly remodeled Rolling Hills Country Club really shine!

What brought you to Rolling Hills Country Club? Can you tell us a little about your background?

I have been around private clubs most of my life. My stepfather is a general manager of a premier private club in Orange County, and he introduced me to this world professionally about 4 years ago. I got my start as a Catering Manager over at Newport Beach Country Club. Rolling Hills opened up January 2018 and I always kept my eye on it! Once the Catering Director position opened up, I knew it was a sign for me to move and dip my feet into the Los Angeles event scene.

What’s your favorite thing about what you do?

The relationships I get to cultivate! I absolutely love being creative and I can’t do that without these extremely talented vendors that play such a huge role in helping bring my visions to life.

How is this venue different/unique from other South Bay venues?

We have an unmatched view from any one of our event spaces.

As a side note: They really do! In the evening, when the Los Angeles skyline lights up the night sky, it can create such a magical feeling that — I hate to say it — only really happens in LA. There’s something about living out here on the BEST Coast that you really can’t get anywhere else.

Why should a couple choose Rolling Hills Country Club?

When you book your wedding with us, you are the only one on property. It’s relaxing knowing that there is an entire team that genuinely loves their jobs, and can’t wait to make your day absolutely perfect. We are here for your every need. Plus, you get to work with me!

What is the min & max people/size for a wedding at Rolling Hills Country Club?

We have so many spaces to choose from! The entire clubhouse top floor is available on Saturdays only, and that is a max of 300 and a minimum of 150. There are also two large lawns. One can hold about 250, the other 400+. To capture the smaller brides’ needs, we do weddings on Friday or Sunday and those we typically see in the 80-125 range. They only need one section, and not the entire top floor.

One last question: Favorite entrée?

For not being a huge fan of vegetables, I could actually eat our vegetarian dish every day! We have a roasted stuffed acorn squash with Brussels sprouts, pearl onions, cranberries and balsamic glaze that is to die for. You can see me in the back of the house with that plate in my hand frequently! Plus, then I don’t feel so guilty about going into the pastry section afterwards!

The Rolling Hills Country Club really is a country club rivaled by few. With the new clubhouse and golf course added in 2018, it’s an amazing venue for any wedding or private event in the LA area.

I’d like to give a special thank you to Erica King for answering a few of the questions I had about RHCC. I had a blast taking these photos. The entire night was spectacular and you could tell that a lot of love went into this remodel. It looks great, guys. Cheers!
